Meet the Team
Behind every knight’s joust, minstrel’s song, and perfectly roasted turkey leg stands a mighty crew of volunteers who make the magic happen! These noble souls are masters of merriment, keepers of magic, champions of chaos control and the heartbeat of the Honoka'a Ren Faire, dedicating their time, talents, and questionable sense of fashion one corset, banner, and ye olde spreadsheet at a time. Whether they wear crowns, tool belts, or clipboards (sometimes all three), these fine folk are the ones who bring the Faire to life. Raise your tankards to this mighty crew, for without them, the kingdom would surely fall into disarray and next time you see one of these fine folk, give them a hearty “Huzzah!” (And maybe a snack. They’ve earned it.)

Growing up, Kalopa state park was my backyard. Playing with my little friends, making houses out of mosses and ferns for the forest spirits, surrounded by the magic that blows through the air, runs deep through the lava tubes, and lives in the roots of the plants that grow here. Reading authors like Ursula K. Le Guin, Lord Dunsany, H.P, Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman, and J.R.R. Tolkien, and watching Movies like The Dark Crystal, The Labyrinth, Wizards, and Willow shaped my strong respect for the old magic that exists in the natural world around us and the fantastic worlds that can be dreamt up in the minds of people. That's why I am so passionate about the work we do as The Honoka'a Renaissance Faire year after year. Helping to create a world where other fantasy nerds, history buffs, and imagination aficionados can come together- dressed up in style and character, with strangers and friends united under a common goal of stepping outside the "real world" for a day.

I do this because I love spending time with my family and friends, plain and simple. With them by my side, I’d build castles out of cardboard, craft dragons from duct tape, or plan a whole Renaissance Faire just for the joy of doing it together. Every laugh, every late night idea, every weird little project, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
